Esther and Purim

Image
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 Esther was a young Jewish woman living in the Persian diaspora who finds favor with the king, becomes queen, and risks her life to save the Jewish people from destruction when the court official Haman persuades the king to authorize a pogrom against all the Jews of the empire. Her story is one of the most dramatic stories in the Bible.  Her boldness, courage, and spiritual insights saved her people, and she is now celebrated as a biblical heroine. Her beauty, courage, intelligence and humility are noted throughout the book of Esther.  FAITHFULNESS Esther demonstrates a level of faithfulness few have matched. her faithfulness led her to a position of power and influence as a queen. She then used that power and influence to risk her life to

Intentional Prayer

Image
Being intentional in prayer is important. We can cry out to God in a moment of weakness “Help me!” And he will know what we mean. But when we call out intentionally and name the issue, we are not just asking for help, we are telling the enemy that we see what he is doing and recognize it. We are telling God that we won’t be swayed by the lies of the enemy any longer. This is so important in dealing with spiritual attacks that manifest in our bodies! Such as depression, anxiety, mental disorders, chronic pain disease.   With intention prayer we show God our emptiness so he can fill us with his fullness. James 5:16 urges, make your prayers effectual and fervent, which creates tremendous power.  But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like the

Rest for the weary

Image
This morning I was reading a devotional about stress and depression. A few things stuck out.  Jesus is always there with you through your highs, lows, wins, and losses in life. He simply invites you to come to Him. He’s not there to shame you, to tell you that you’re less than something because you’re suffering. Instead, He's there to provide you hope, love, rest, and relief. You don’t have to try to carry the weight of life alone. We have a Heavenly Father that will take our burdens and give us rest.  Can you picture Jesus standing there with outstretched arms, mail pierced hands saying, “I know you’re going through a rough time. Come to Me. You’re tired. Lid is hard sometimes. Life has put something on you that you can't do by yourself. But you you don’t have to do this alone. Only I can give you that true rest that you need. Do you want rest for your soul, body and mind? I promise you that I’ll give it to you. I’m gentle, loving, patient, and kind. Let me help you. Let me

About Corey

Image
Corey Richardson I was born and raised in the blue ridge mountains of North Carolina in the Baptist Church. I had made a commitment to Christ at the age of 13 but I soon backslid in my teenage years. Falling into drugs, alcohol, and riotous living. At the age of 19, during a suicide attempt, I heard the voice of the Lord call out to me saying, “I have a purpose for you.” Immediately I put down the gun and repented of my sins, turning back to Christ as my Lord and savior. Not long after that, the Lord called me to preach,  filling me with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I hid this fact for many years, as I was still very much a part of the Baptist denomination which held a firm stance against the gifts of the Spirit. It was this and other doctrines that the Baptists held that I soon found myself to be at odds with. I eventually became a Pastor of a non denominational holiness church at the age of twenty years old. I would soon be kicked out of that church for

The Mind of Christ: Prayer

Image
The mind of Christ  Prayer Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2:16 that we have the mind of Christ and in Philippians 2:5 he says to LET this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. How do we do that? One way is prayer, Romans 12 says: 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your *reasonable service*. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Paul teaches us to submit ourselves to God in prayer like a sacrifice. The sacrifices were totally consumed by the fire, which in Hebrew is called the eternal fire. When you cook something you change it, you change the color, texture and taste of whatever it is you are cooking. Our prayer life should be transformative. We should be consumed by the fire of the Holy Spirit and changed. Prayer should renew our minds!  Since Pa

Bullying

Image
Corey and I were laying in bed watch George Lopez, the old show from early 2000’s. A show called “Girl Fight” came on and the premis is that his teenage daughter has lies spread about her saying she is a “whore” and “easy”.  I told Corey “kids and teenagers can be so mean. But it’s really not surprising when you see the way people act on social media.”  It seems like society is getting crueler. What happened to “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.” Is our opinion really so important that we think it’s ok to put others down, criticize and cyber bully?  Ephesians 4:29 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Proverbs 17:9 9 Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends. Romans 12:18-19 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. A gen

Offenses

Image
Jonah was offended when Nineveh, who didn’t know their right hand from their left, had a move of God.  The Pharisees were offended when Sinners and those ignorant of the law had a move of God.  The early believers were offended when uncircumcised gentiles had a move of God.  The pattern continues, so let’s not fall into the same trap! Let’s have a move of God ourselves! Let’s pray that the fullness of the spirit fall on us! Let’s pray God shake us from apathy, pride or jealousy. Let’s pray God fill us so full of himself people start accusing us of being drunk in the middle of the day! Let it be said of us that we turned the world upside down! Let’s pray for the fullness of the gifts of the spirit and an outpouring that no one can contain WITH the fullness of the truth! Let’s lead people in love! Let’s be fishers of men again!

What is a Wife?

Image
What is a wife?  Genesis tells us that God realized it wasn’t good for man to be alone, that He decided to make a “helper suitable for him” (Gen. 2:18).   A HELPER: How can we help our husbands? Supporting them in life and their ministry. This does not mean you are inferior to your husband. You are not your husbands servant! You are your husbands co-laborer to Christ. In Genesis 2:18 woman is describe as ezer kenegdo. This shows that Eve was to be a counterpart to Adam. And the reverse applies too, Adam was a counterpart to Eve. On their own each were lacking something, but together they perfectly complimented each other. Eve walked beside, not behind, Adam. My husband has been called to the ministry. God placed a calling in his life. My job as his wife is to support him. Uplift and encourage him. I don’t want to be a hinderance on his calling or his walk with God.  R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means to me! Woooooohoooo! A little respect. We now conclude the musical portion of this

Getting to the Presence of God

Image
What will you do to be in the presence of God? What will you do to experience the presence of the Holy Ghost?  This is what I had to contend with this morning. I spent the weekend sick in bed. When my alarm went off for church I hit snooze this morning, I thought, “I have to take a shower, wash my hair, get dressed and be presentable.” I literally rolled out of bed and into the shower. I hurriedly took a shower and threw my hair in a towel while I attempted to get dressed. But nothing felt right to wear, I lost my phone, I was frustrated from running late. Being late causes anxiety in me.  I got out to my car and looked at my phone. 9:42 AM. Church starts at 10 and I was 25-30 minutes away. I was half way to church when I realized my hair was still in a towel. But God does not care what I look like as long as I make the effort. God says in Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I a

Modesty

Image
I am laying in bed unable to sleep and am scrolling through Facebook. I started to think about my teenage years after seeing some post of people’s teenage daughters. I thought, “My parents would have never have let me dress like that.” And I realized how thankful for that I was.  As a teenager my mom would frequently tell me “You need to put a sweater on.” She wasn’t saying this because it always cold in Seattle where I was raised, she said this because she thought I needed to dress more modest. Boy did it infuriate me! I am sure I complained about how “uncool” she was being. The 90’s and early 2000’s were a time the low rise jeans, tube tops, one armed shirts, belly shirts and tight clothes being popular and “in style”. There was an ongoing fight with my mom over a one sleeved shirt that I just had to have.  What I didn’t understand at 13 is that I did not have the body of a 13 year old! I was well endowed and curvy. I looked older than I was. My mom has frequently  said “I don’t kn

You are not alone: Depression and Suicide

Image
This was my Uncle Keith. He had a successful military career and Boeing career. He had a gorgeous house in Arizona. His family and friends loved him. His dogs adored him. He had a savings account, stocks and bonds, retirement. He was what everyone would consider successful. But he had depression and was an alcoholic. Some said he was a “functioning alcoholic.” When my Grandma, his mother, was dying he couldn’t handle it. Less than a month after her death, he shot himself at his home. The night before his death I was on the phone with him making plans for his next trip to visit. We were looking at tickets to see Little Big Town at the Grand Ol Opry. He was laughing, he was so excited, and he was planning for the future. The Boeing plant he worked at shut down, had a memorial service and brought in counselors for his coworkers. He was loved! “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). My mom spent coun

Holding onto your Healing

A week ago I received healing.  Tuesday I started having intrusive thought.  The devil told me “No one cares that you are here, everyone would be better off without you.”  I was at work when I had these thoughts. I was busy working on prior authorizations for biological medications, arranging shipments from pharmacies that keep you on hold forever, preparing paperwork for afternoon patients that needed testing.  It wasn’t some haunting voice that told me these lies. It was my inner voice. I sent a text to my husband and my parents. Then I went back to my work. I am so blessed to have people in my life that I can text and know that they will drop what they are doing and pray.  It was a busy day and I didn’t get to check my phone for awhile so when I looked at my phone there were a lot of notifications. They were worried about me, rightly so. Depression, anxiety and suicide were generational curses in my family. Jesus died on the cross and shed his bled to bring healing, deliverance and

Developing The Mind of Christ

Developing the mind of Christ: Paul tells us that if we are filled with the Spirit then we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16) but HAVING and hearing are two separate things. If you read 1 Corinthians 2 Paul tells the Corinthians that he preached a simple message of Christ and him crucified because this was all that they could understand and handle at the time. He did not try to impress them with wisdom and deep things. While we never move away from this simple message we can grow and deepen ourselves within that message.  Paul goes on to say that while he did not initially speak with wisdom to them, he does speak wisdom to those who are mature. The word mature in Aramaic is complete or whole. We have spiritual growth to do if we want the deep wisdom of God. Paul then begins to describe this spiritual wisdom showing that while the depths of God’s wisdom are beyond human understanding, that these are revealed to us by the spirit and that we do possess the mind of Christ. How d

Being an Aaron or Hur

Image
Exodus 17:10-13 “So Joshua fought against the Amalekites, just as Moses had ordered. Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning. But every time he lowered his hands, the Amalekites began to win. When Moses’ arms got tired, Aaron and Hur got a stone and put it under him. Then he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands. Aaron was on one side, and Hur was on the other. Moses’ hands remained steady until sunset. So Joshua destroyed the Amalekite army with swords.” When we are weak and/or down, sometimes we need others to help lift us up. Intercession, a lift of our arms to keep fighting the battle. It’s ok to not be ok! But don’t give up! The victory is ours by the sacrifice of the cross!

Heather’s Testimony of Healing

Image
God healed me when my foot was ran over by a truck 6/26/2008.  God healed me again 9/27/2020 when I went through a divorce. Willl he do it again? Of course! AND DID HE!! 2/8/2023 God healed me again! Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, undiagnosable lung disease, vocal cord dysfunction, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, obstructive and central sleep apnea, migraines, mitral valve prolapse regurgitation, PVC’s, shortness of breath, chronic cough, chest pain, back pain, sciatica, hypersolmnolence, peripheral neuropathy, asthma, blood disorder, vertigo, hypoglycemic episodes, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, covid, flu, pulmonary embolism, PCOS, infertility, acid reflux, and disability are some of the curses that have been spoke over me since 6/2022. One doctor after another giving worse diagnoses than the last. 6 trips to the emergency room.  BUT I AM NOW FREE! The greatest physician of all has deemed me free of generational and spoken curses. All demonic forces have been overcome by t

The Mind of Christ Part 3

The mind of Christ  Part 3 Jesus talks about how, after his departure, he will send the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit will do a number of things, the first being that He will convict us of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:7-11). That’s the first step to us having the mind of Christ, the holy spirit using our conscience to draw us to a place of conviction.  Jesus goes on to say this, “ I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.“ Jesus says he has more to tell us, and that he wants to talk to us through the infilling of the Holy Spirit. That the Spirit is going to guide us into all truth, he’s going to write his law on our hearts and enable us to walk out the judgments and

The Mind of Christ Part 2

The mind of Christ  Part 2 ”Tongues” Disclaimer: This one is going to be controversial, arguments are not going to be tolerated. If you want to discuss this topic at length private message me.  Let me say that there are many believers who are all in different stages of their walk with Christ. Some reap 30, some 60, and some 100 fold. I’m confident that those who are not filled with the Holy Spirit have had true experiences with God and many of those believers will be in the kingdom. The purpose of writing this is to bless you not create division. In the book of Acts, people who were filled with the Holy Spirit immediately afterward spoke in tongues (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:6). It should be the desire of every believer to have an experience like the early believers in the Bible. An authentic book of Acts experience.  Is tongues human language? So, a lot of people want to say that because the crowds in Jerusalem heard the Apostles speak in their own language that means that tongues are k

The Mind of Christ Part 1

The mind of Christ  Part 1 Paul says that we have the mind of Christ in 1 Corinthians 2:16 even sinners have this in a small measure it is called their conscience. Romans 2:14-15 tells us that our conscience is the law of God written on our hearts that bears witness to the law of God, and that our conscience either excuses us (makes us feel good about the right thing) or accuses us (makes us feel bad about the wrong thing). This scripture quoting from Jeremiah 31 is fulfilled in us after being filled with his spirit, not only teaching us right from wrong, but also enabling us to do what is right. Sinners have the breath of God, which is their living soul, this part of God doesn’t want you to sin, and will actually betray you when you lie. Your micro expressions, body language, and even heart rate can change when you are doing or saying something wrong. You can’t avoid the fact that you have a God given conscience. You can’t avoid the fact that God is speaking to you all the time in yo

Holy Spirit and Speaking in Tongues

Image
Hey everyone! I shared this on my personal page earlier. This is something that God was showing me in my prayer and devotion time.  “Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”” ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Why do we need the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit gives us power from our Lord! (Acts 1:8) it gives us power, strength, boldness, it’s an intercessor, a prayer language, and sometimes it is an editor! You know when you really want to tell someone off in a text and you type a long message then go back and delete it? That is the Holy Spirit working through you to edit your words!  We sometimes downplay the power of the Holy Spirit though! There is healing and miraculous signs and wonders through the Holy Spir

About Heather

Image
Heather Richardson I was raised mostly in the Assembly of God church, just north of Seattle. Both of my grandfathers were United Pentecostal Preachers. At the age of 17 I arrived in Tennessee with the dream of being a singer. After having my foot run over by a truck I decided to be a medical assistant with the goal of someday becoming a nurse practitioner. At 20 I got married and graduated from college. My 20’s weren’t exactly happy though. I fell away from God, battled depression, became suicidal, and was unhappy with life. In 2020 I filed for divorce after learning of affairs. Then on September 27, 2020 God got my full attention! Pastor Jonathan Miller was preaching at Restoring Hope Church and called me out from the alter. In an instance I was delivered of the depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and filled with the Holy Ghost! The prayers of my parents were answered that day. My mom did a victory Holy Ghost dance across the stage even!  March 27, 2022 I went on a date with this mini
