The Mind of Christ Part 3
The mind of Christ
Part 3
Jesus talks about how, after his departure, he will send the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit will do a number of things, the first being that He will convict us of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:7-11). That’s the first step to us having the mind of Christ, the holy spirit using our conscience to draw us to a place of conviction.
Jesus goes on to say this, “ I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.“
Jesus says he has more to tell us, and that he wants to talk to us through the infilling of the Holy Spirit. That the Spirit is going to guide us into all truth, he’s going to write his law on our hearts and enable us to walk out the judgments and statutes of God (Ezekiel 36:26-27). Whatever hears he will speak, he will tell you things to come in the future, (the gift of prophecy- 1 Corinthians 12:10) and finally he will always glorify Jesus.
Too many Christians are wondering where is God? why isn’t God speaking to me? What is God’s will for my life? Why doesn’t God speak to us today? The answer is that God is speaking to you, you just don’t know how to listen because the answer has been deemed heretical by the religious establishment, who have put God into a box and hid the fact that we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).
They crucified Jesus over this fact. He came speaking as God in the first person, claiming that he had an intimate relationship with God and access to the voice and will of his Heavenly Father. That he was God in flesh the spirit of God dwelling within a human body. Healing the sick and teaching mysteries beyond what the religious establishment could fathom. Jesus said this of himself:
“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.” (John 5:30)
Jesus claimed to have a direct connection with God. Claiming that he HEARD God directly and then acted based on that TWO WAY COMMUNICATION.
Jesus claimed that he and the Father were one. That he was in the Father and the Father was in him. The Jews wanted to kill him for this in John 10. They said the reason was “Thou being a man makest thyself God.” Jesus response to this is to quote Psalm 82:6- “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”
A part of God is within everyone of us. The breath of life that makes us a living soul. We are made in the image of God and if you are filled with his Spirit, then God lives within you and you have the mind of Christ speaking to you in YOUR brain, using YOUR voice, in the first person. Just like our forerunner. This kind of talk is what gets the religious establishment really riled up… enough to kill!
We are humans made from the dirt and we should never think more highly of ourselves than what is written. In fact to truly hear the mind of Christ you have to die to yourself and submit totally to his Lordship over your life. His will over yours. When you do that he actually has A LOT to say to you!
In your brain, your voice, first person.
The mind of Christ.
