Praise is our Weapon

In Acts 16:25-26 Paul and Silas praised God and the doors in the prison they were in were opened and they escaped. Praise lifts us out of oppression and praising God also helps us out of our self-centered ways. Praise glorifies and honors the Lord, it helps us focus our minds on him, praise breaks chains of bondage. PRAISE is a powerful weapon in deliverance and spiritual warfare. As you praise the Lord, things begin to happen in the unseen realm. Heaven’s armies join forces with you when you praise the Lord!

“But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened. – Acts 16:25-26

The power of praise in battles is shown in 2 Chronicles 20, Psalm 8:2, and Psalm 149:5-9. Praise is the key to turning the battle over to God.

“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the wonderful things you have done. I will sing with joy because of you. I will sing praise to you, Almighty God.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭9‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭

And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me; and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. – Psalm 27:6

“At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves.”

‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭20‬:‭22‬

As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah and they were defeated!

This is one of the wonders of praise. Praises to God brings down His presence and makes Him to show His power and might! King Jehoshaphat and his people had organized a choir and they began to praise God even with the enemies very close by. Three nations rose against them, yet they believed that by praise they would have victory because God said so.

God did what He had never done before! He set an ambush against them and they began to destroy one another, until they all died. The people of Judah did not need to lift their swords, it was not necessary because God was in action. They only came to take the spoil and a great one too.

“When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭6‬:‭20‬

In Joshua 6:20 a shout of praise brought down the walls of Jericho! They sounded the shofar and shouted in praise, their battle cry! Their praise brought triumph and victory!

The bible says we are created to bring pleasure to God. But only those who belong to God can touch Him by praise, because the sacrifice of a sinner is an abomination before God. All the people that brought down the presence of God through praise in the bible were people of God.

Lift your voice in praise to the one true God! If you don’t, then the rocks will cry out!

“He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭40‬ ‭
